Использование:
Для выражения действия, совершенного ранее другого действия в прошлом:
By – к определенному моменту
I had read the text by Friday.
Before – до того, как
I had read the text before the lesson started.
When, as soon as, by the time, after также могут использоваться в предложениях с Past Perfect.
I had translated the text when he came back.
As soon as he had left, my mum started cooking.
She had already done her homework by the time Kate called.
After we had had lunch, we went for a walk.
